An idiom adalah sebuah kata atau phrasa yang bermakna berbeda dari makna yang ada dikamus atau makna harfiah. Idioms umumnya berbentuk phrasa atau terminology yang manknanya telah dirubah, akan tetapi dapat dimengerti dari penggunaan yang popular.

Piece of cake.
Meaning : hal yang mudah
Example : The English test was a piece of cake!


Tied up
Meaning : sibuk
Example : I’m tied up right now


Break a leg
Meaning : Selamat berjuang
Example : “Is tonight your big performance? Break a leg!”

Get off my back!
Meaning : jangan mengganguku
Example : she won’t get off my back until I pay my debt.

Get ducks in a row
Meaning – membuat semuannya terkendali atau terorganisir
Example - To ensure a successful product launch, we must get our ducks in a row.

Think on his feet
Meaning – membuat keputusan secara cepat
Example - A good sales man must be able to think on his feet to close the dea

Definition :Jangan menunda sesuatu
Example   :As soon as he finished all the registration formalities, he put the house on sale. He doesn't let the grass grow under his feet.

Golden handshake
Definition :uang pesangon
Example  :The management of various PSUs wanted to cut down on the man power. They offered a golden hand shake to many of their aged employees.

cry over split milk
Definition: melakukan hal yang sia sia
Example : “She was mad that he broke her vase, but it was an accident, and there’s no use crying over spilt milk anyway, so she forgave him.”

Definition: menyelesaikan dua masalah dengan satu gerakan ( atau di pribahasa kita satu kali dayung dua tiga pulau terlampaui)
Example  :  “By taking my dad on holiday, I killed two birds with one stone. I got to go away but also spend time with him.”

‘Once in a blue moon’
 Definition: sesuatu yang jarang terjadi
Example  :  “I only go to the cinema once in a blue moon.”

‘The best of both worlds’
Definition: dapat merasakan dua hal yang berbeda dalam satu waktu.
Example  :  “By working part-time and looking after her kids two days a week she managed to get the best of both worlds.”
